Texas Cardio, v 2.0
At the Academy this morning, the workout was called "Texas Cardio V.2".
- The summary: 210 deadlifts at 175 pounds.
- The details: Load a barbell up to half of your single-lift maximum. Start a clock. Before the end of the first minute, do one deadlift. In the second minute, do two more deadlifts. In the third minute, three of them. Continue until failing to make the proper number of lifts in a given minute or until form is on the verge of being unsafe.
I made it through 15 rounds (and 15 minutes), but in the 16-minute round, I was able to lift only four times, and then I was too fatigued to continue safely.

Peanut Butter Recall -- Zone Bars
I learned today that ZonePerfect bars--Chocolate Peanut Butter flavor--are subject to voluntary recall. All lots have been tested and no salmonella has been found in any of them, but is it worth the risk? And wouldn't you know that I just got a couple of dozen of them from Costco this past weekend?
Now I am curious: is it safe to dispose of them in the compost bin?

Track Work - 800s and 200s
I went all by myself to the track this morning for a solo 6:00am running workout. It was a combination of runs of 800 meters and 200 meters suggested by Pat. Following is the combination of runs and rests:
| Run | Recovery |
|---|---|
| 800m | 2 minutes |
| 800m | 2 minutes |
| 200m | 200m jog |
| 200m | 200m jog |
| 800m | 2 minutes |
| 800m | 2 minutes |
| 200m | 200m jog |
| 200m | 200m jog |
| 800m | 200m jog |
| 200m | DONE |
The workout was interesting, and my legs were a little heavy for most of the day after this, my second track-work day since the cancelled marathon.
