Beth and I met Spyros at the Upper Arroyo Seco parking lots near the east entrance to JPL to try our fat-tire eBikes on Fern Truck Trail and Brown Mountain Truck Trail, which hikers and – especially – mountain bikers enjoy. This route had a more friendly elevation profile than our Mount Lowe Railway Trail ride from last month, and the temperature stayed much cooler too, so there was not too much strain on our electric-assist systems.
The GPS unit stopped recording just when we turned left off of Fern Truck Trail and onto Brown Mountain Truck Trail, so it did cannot say exactly where I spilled hard taking the wrong line through a right-hand curve. Missing from the route linked below: we continued down to Chaney Trail and out via Loma Alta and Altadena Drives to our starting point.
I made sure to replace my helmet following its successful defense of my brainpan.
